If you’re researching vegan protein powder reviews to find the best-tasting products, then this article is for you. We know that plant-based protein powders can sometimes taste earthy, chalky, and in some cases, not very good. So we’ve compiled some of our favorites and put together this short vegan protein powder review article to share.
Please let me know what you think (or if you have reviewed these or any other awesome tasting vegan protein powders) in the comments section below. Sunwarrior Classic Plus Protein Powder
A level-up from Sunwarrior Classic (the flagship plant-based protein powder from Sunwarrior,) Sunwarrior Classic Plus offers more protein (20 grams) and amino acids per serving. We had opportunity to review all three flavors of Sunwarrior Classic Plus: Vanilla, Chocolate, and Natural. And each flavor is very delicious compared to other vegan protein powders rich in grain.
The Vanilla review was perhaps the best of them all. The vegan protein powder very smooth with a light layer vanilla bean sweetness to liven the taste buds. The sweetness is well-balanced, is not overpowering, and does not have any strange or artificial aftertaste. This vegan protein powder from Sunwarrior has a highly refined and floury texture, so it mixes well into almost anything.
Classic Plus Natural is essentially flavorless, but also very smooth and transparent. This flavor is barely noticeable in smoothies and other blended applications. As a result, you can retain the “natural” flavor of whatever you add it to. When it comes to the natural-flavored plant-based protein powders, this option from Sunwarrior is tops.
Last in the series of best-tasting Sunwarrior Classic Plus protein powders is the Chocolate flavor. Unlike some chocolate protein powders that taste more like mocha and dark chocolate, this flavor tasted a bit more like milk chocolate, (also slightly creamy.) If you want to learn more about the flavor and nutritional profile of this product, be sure to check out my Sunwarrior Classic Plus protein review. I am huge fan of Sunwarrior and some of the products they offer.
Orgain Organic Protein Powder
One of the most delicious yet lesser known vegan protein powders is Orgain Organic Protein. It offers 21 grams of an organic protein (containing hemp seed, chia seed, pea, and brown rice proteins.) Both flavors, Creamy Chocolate Fudge and Vanilla Bean, contain Orgain’s “Organic Creamer Base” which is bee’s knees to making the product taste amazing.
We only had the chance to review the Vanilla Bean flavor of this plant-based protein powder. Suffice to say, it was extremely tasty, fairly sweet, and indeed quite creamy. In essence, Orgain Organic Protein (Vanilla Bean), is one of the best-tasting vegan protein powder reviews we’ve conducting. It tastes like a vanilla milkshake.
Garden of Life RAW Fit™ Protein Powder
Labeled as Garden of Life RAW Fit™: High Protein for Weight Loss Review , this product has a lot to offer, in addition to delicious taste. In addition to 26 grams of sprouted, orgain protein, Garden of Life RAW Fit™ also contains three “RAW Certified blends” for weight loss and stress management, probiotics, and glucose management. Each blend is rich with all things that are good for you.
As for taste, the Unflavored version was equally as smooth as Sunwarrior Classic Plus, but with a bit more flavor. There is subtle taste of vanilla and hints of eggnog. That is of course if you only blended the protein powder with milk. In a smoothie, this flavor of Garden of Life RAW Fit would be quite transparent.
Chocolate Cacao was the second flavor of vegan protein powders to review in the line of Garden of Life RAW Fit. The cacao flavor is very apparent and up-front, but in a pleasant and inviting way. Robust mocha and dark chocolate dominate its flavor profile, minimizing any earthy undertones.
There’s also Marley Coffee and Vanilla flavors in this line of vegan protein powders. But I have yet to review those. If you’ve tried them, be sure to let me know in the comments.
