School reports significant loss in food service, review meal pricing

The Drexel R-IV School Board of Education held their regular monthly meeting last Monday, July 20th, in the ITV Conference Room. President Christyne Hellebuyck, Vice President Brad Lancaster, Treasurer Kim Hocker, Members Chuck Martin, Ronnie Jacobs, Brenda Hadley and Chris Collins, Superintendent Dr. Judy Stivers and Secretary Linda Moles were all in attendance. Three visitors were present.
The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, and a moment of silence.
Immediately following the approval of the consent agenda, Librarian Judy Daniel presented the Library Media Center Report comparing this year to last year. The volunteer effort that went into successfully getting all of the books labeled was greatly appreciated by Daniel.
A motion to approve the PDC Plan for 2009-2012 was made by Chuck Martin, seconded by Chris Collins, and passed unanimously.
Milk and Bread bids were received from Interstate Brands Corporation and Sara Lee to supply bread products for the 2009-2010 school year. Bids were received for milk products for the 2009-2010 school year from Anderson Erickson Dairy Co. and Sunnyside Dairy. A motion was made by Martin to accept the bids from Interstate Brands for bread products, and Sunnyside Dairy for milk. Motion was seconded by Ronnie Jacobs, and carried unanimously.
