School Board Recognition Week: January 25 - 31st

Missourians benefit every day from the dedicated energies and countless hours devoted by a group of more than 3,600 men and women in every community across the state. These public servants are elected by local constituents and do not receive compensation for their tireless efforts. These men and women are the local school board members of Missouri.
During the week of January 25-31st, Drexel, along with other communities across the state, will honor the dedicated service of our Board of Education during School Board Recognition Week. The goal of recognition week is to build awareness and understanding of the important function our elected Board of Education members play in our community and school. All Missouri citizens are asked to recognize the important contributions of these men and women and focus attention on the vital role these public officials play in the education of Missouri’s children. The Drexel School Board of Education members are: back row, left to right, Brad Lancaster, Chuck Martin, Brenda Hadley, and Ronnie Jacobs. From row, left to right, Victor Shipley, Christyne Hellebuyck, and Kim Hocker.
On Thursday, January 22nd, 2009, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., the Drexel R-IV Schools will host a reception for all past Board of Education members. The reception is to honor all community members who have given of their time and energy to the District by accepting the responsibility for governance and leadership in the past several decades.
From The Drexel Star to our Drexel School Board of Education members, we continue to thank you for your efforts in making the Drexel School District a fine educational establishment, one that is envious and sought after by families both far and near!
School Board Recognition Week is sponsored by the Missouri School Boards’ Association.
