School board makes handbook change

The Drexel R-IV School board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library Media Center.
A quorum was established with the following members in attendance: Christyne Hellebuyck, Vic Shipley, Kim Hocker, Ronnie Jacobs, Brad Lancaster, Brenda Hadley, Jeffy Levy, Robbie Shepherd, Linda Moles, and Judy Stivers. Visitors present were: Stacy Rice, Renda Armstrong with DSWA, Kevin and Jennifer Gunnels, Harold and Robyn Seba, Tiffany Richmond, Donna Bauer, Tammy Bartholomew, Robin Bartholomew, Sterling Hudson, Lorrie Wilson, Donna Rooney, Denise Antley, Shelley Jacobs, and student representatives from Drexel FFA.
The President called the meeting to order. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence.
Motion to amend the agenda to include discussion of open gym policy was made by Shipley, seconded by Hocker, and carried unanimously.
Motion to approve the consent agenda, (consisting of approval of amended agenda, approval of previous minutes, approval of warrant report, authorization for payment of bills, and approval of financial summary of funds) was made by Shipley. Motion was seconded by Hadley, and passed unanimously.
Next, student representatives of FFA presented the Charter for the board and administration to sign.
At this time, Renda Armstrong with DSWA Certified Public Accountants reviewed the 2007-2008 fiscal year audit. Motion to approve the audit was made by Jacobs, seconded by Hocker, and carried unanimously.
