Principal contracts narrowly approved

The Drexel Board of Education met for their regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 15th at 6:30 p.m. in the ITV/Conference Room of the school. Below are the unapproved minutes from that meeting.
The meeting was called to order by President Christyne Hellebuyck and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence. Members present were, President Christyne Hellebuyck, Vice President Brad Lancaster, Treasurer Kim Hocker, Members Chuck Martin, Ronnie Jacobs, Brenda Hadley and Chris Collins, Superintendent Dr. Judy Stivers, Principal Jeff Levy and Secretary Linda Moles. Visitors were, Robyn Seba and Glenna Callen.
Motion to approve the consent agenda, consisting of approval of proposed agenda and previous minutes, approval of warrant report, authorization of payment of bills, and approval of financial summary of funds, was made by Lancaster, seconded by Hadley, and carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Hocker to transfer $69,079.16 from Incidental Fund 1 to Teachers Fund 2 to zero the balance as of February 15, 2010. Motion was seconded by Jacobs, and passed unanimously.
At this time, Elementary Principal Levy gave his report to the board. He stated that Elementary teachers have developed and scheduled Math Night for Thursday, February 25th, beginning at 6:30 p.m. All students and their parents in grades 3-6 are invited to a meeting on March 17th at 6:30 p.m. where there will be discussion concerning the content of the MAP test and how to help children prepare.
