Mid-West Fertilizer recognizes customers

id-West Fertilizer, formally Drexel Elevator, held their 22nd Annual Customer Appreciation Day last Wednesday, December 31st at the Drexel Community Center.
Staff of Mid-West Fertilizer recognized their customers on this day to thank them for the loyal patronage they have shown now and into the future. Special deals were made available during the event for bulk fertilizer, Nutrena Feed, Asgrow, DeKalb, Croplan Seed and Chemicals.
The all day event was kicked off with the flippin’ of flapjacks by Chris Cakes of Louisburg. Pancakes were sent flyin’ to the plates of those who dared to catch.
Prizes were awarded throughout the day with a Grand Prize drawing at the closure for a television. The winners of the door prizes were, in the ladies group: candle - Mary Guey, Juanita Kimbrough, Allison Jacobs, Grace Kinney and Laura Lee. Purse - Phoebe Rayborn and Margaret Aberer. Gloves - Beverly Smith. In the men’s group: Carton grease - Toby Fairburn and Bob Reighard. Halter - Don Elliot and Jarod Jacobs. Gloves - Don Shipley, Bryan Rice, and Ed Schulties.
The winner of the television was Illene Kettler.
For entertainment a pancake eating contest was held for children and adults. The winners in both categories were Jarod Jacobs and Allison Jacobs. Both beat the competition by eating four pancakes in the fastest time.
