Meeting not confirmed

Shortly after the Labor Day holiday, signs were
erected outside of the Drexel immediate city
limits declaring you to vote yes to consolidate
the Drexel Schools. This posted sign also included
“Save Our School Committee,” in an attempt to make people believe that one exists.
UPDATE: Earlier this week the Drexel Star was
notified that flyers are now posted around town calling for a Community Information Meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Drexel
Community Center. They also state that “experts” will be on hand to answer questions and
to explain the process.
Refreshments will be served
apparently and Keith Mangile is named as the contact person.
Mangile, a Drexel resident, has adamantly denied any
involvement in any committee
to consolidate Drexel schools. And secondly, the
City of Drexel has not received funds
from any such committee to reserve the
community center for this meeting.
It is apparent that someone or some people have a
message they would like to get across, however are not going by it openly. The Drexel R-IV school continues
to be unaware of the committee or any
consolidation involving the district.
