Man fathers four children with teenage daughter, three dead

Cass County Prosecutor Teresa Hensley and Sheriff Dwight Diehl announced last Friday charges against a man for allegedly raping his teenage daughter from the tender age of 13 resulting in four pregnancies, killing at least one of the babies, and then hiding the remains. The girl is now 19. Only one of the teen’s children is alive... a 3-year-old son with the name I.R. who is now in state custody.
Danial “Danny” M. Rinehart, 47, is charged with several counts including murder in the second degree, endangering a child in the first degree, statutory rape in the second degree, two counts of incest and two counts of abandoning a corpse.
The investigation began October 3, 2008, when officers responded to the Harrisonville Wal-Mart after one of Rinehart’s daughters called police to file a sexual abuse report. The daughter stated to authorities that there were two babies buried in a rural Harrisonville garage. Despite the use of Kansas City, Missouri Police Department cadaver dogs, no remains were found.
