King and Queen of the Prom

Well folks, another prom season has come and gone. With the year flying by, the junior class somehow found
the time to decorate beautifully
for a wonderful night at Deer Creek - where our Junior/Senior prom was held. With the theme “Take my Breath Away,” and decorations the color of pretty pink, it was no wonder guests at the Promenade had trouble
catching their breath.
Promenade was held at 5:45 p.m. on April 17th, where couples walked through lovely archways and approached a fountain to get their picture taken. After that, couples were
chauffeured onto Greyhound buses, and from there headed off to dance the night away at Deer Creek; an exquisite golf course located in Overland Park.
Upon the students’ arrival; a fresh dinner of pasta, ham, fresh vegetables, and fruit was served. After the relaxing dinner, students were set loose to hit the dance floor. Senior candidates for Prom King and Queen were: Cody
Hargreaves (king), Meagan Lane (queen), Marah Shipley, Justin Wheeler, Lauren Gammon, and Tony Otto. By the end of the night, students were worn out, ties were loosened, and shoes were thrown aside. I think it’s safe to say prom was a hit this year.
