July 4th: fun pleasing for all ages

The smell of bar-be-que, the sound of dirt bikes as they round the tight curves, the smiling faces of the young, and the sign of patriotism is what you saw if you visited the 49th Annual Fireworks Display last Friday at Drexel’s H.T. Smith Park.
To kick off the fun-filled day, lawn chairs were placed and tailgates were lowered symbolizing the start to the Celebratory Parade down Main Street. Tractors, horses, not to mention those candidates trying to seal your vote, and local youth dressed in their finest red, white and blue, all lined up in anticipation for the 10:30 a.m. start. Led by Drexel’s local V.F.W. Post veterans, carrying the U.S. Flag, they marched down Main on their way through to the park. Following their lead. . .
