Huge crowd gathers at Fall Festival

Summer may be fading, but the skies are still sunny enough for short sleeves, the air is crisp, fresh, and tinged with the scent of cool nights, and the leaves are just beginning to turn. And the Drexel Fall Festival — a homey harvest celebration full of kid-happy fun and arts of all kinds — was the perfect way to ease your spirit into the delights of the new season this past Saturday.
Small town Drexel was booming as the Fall Festival got underway. Months of planning and preparation paid off as hundreds of festival-goers ventured out to H. T. Smith Park. In conjunction to the festival, the Log Cabin Quilters held their 8th Annual Quilt Show and auction which was the main attraction to the day-long event. The quilt show, highlighting over 100 quilts, took place in the Community Center building.
Hundreds of people toured the exhibited works of art, eagerly awaiting the auction.
Nearly sixty vendor booths were set up with a variety of foods and crafts being sold and shown off. Taking center stage at
the park were many talented entertainers for spectators to enjoy throughout the day as well.
Children of all ages scoured the park enjoying face painting, bobbing for apples, and some arts and crafts.
