Costumed children clog Drexel’s Main Street for 2nd Annual
Halloween Fun and Safety Night.

Parents and their young ghouls and goblins celebrated the fall season and Halloween last Friday night at the Halloween Fun and Safety Night on Drexel’s Main Street. The ghoulishly fun time, courtesy of the Drexel Community Betterment Corporation, drew nearly 300 children dressed from sweet to spooky, for the hour long event. To kick the event off, ghouls and goblins, superheroes and movie villains, cheerleaders and sports stars and many more costumed characters paraded up Main Street for the second annual event. From there, DCBC greeters handed each child a glow necklace and bag of crackers as they whisked by to the area business booths. Businesses from the area, including some residents, transformed themselves into mad scientists to vampires to Pippi Longstocking, that ever-so-popular inquisitive redhead, and handed out candied treats to the costumed youngin’s wishing them all a Happy Halloween and a safe night ahead of them. Families then ventured out into the community to trick or treat safely. “Thanks to beautiful weather and the hard work of many of the local businesses, I believe that this year’s Halloween Trick or Treat on Main Street, was a huge success,” said DCBC President Tyler Black. “This is an excellent opportunity for families in and around Drexel to gather together and enjoy a safe and fun evening.” Pictured: Cowgirl Jenna Eastwood and her buzzing buddy, Tayler Francis, enjoyed their experience at the Halloween event on Main Street, Drexel Police escorted the hundreds of costumed children in the parade, adults alike dressed for the haunting occasion, and Hannah Schruck trick-or-treated the area business booths.
