For the first time in nearly 40 years, we have been told, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Drexel has changed the time of the hunt. Traditionally, the hunt began at 10:00 a.m., however this year the time has been moved to 11:30 a.m. “We want all the kids around to be able to attend the event,” says Bill Marsh, caretaker of the event for several years. “It came to our attention that many kids were not going to be able to attend due to soccer game scheduling. We decided the best thing to do was to just change the time. This change could also reap benefits for the many families who have out-of-town guests traveling in for the annual event. This will give them plenty of time too.”
Therefore, hundreds of colorful Easter eggs will adorn the stately grasses of H. T. Smith Park on Saturday for the Drexel Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt will begin at 11:30 a.m. sharp, right as the horn blows! So, all you children up to twelve years of age, grab your gathering basket or bag, check out the map attachment and scope out your destination. And remember, there will be a $100 Golden Egg hidden somewhere in the park!!!
NOTE: Donated Easter Eggs may be dropped off at the Drexel Star office by Friday, April 10th!
