PHOTO: DREXEL FIRST GRADERS SET A GOAL to collect enough items for five complete Kits4Kids to give to children in Haiti. However, with outstanding involvement and interest, they exceeded their goal and collected enough items for fourteen kits. Pairs of students also worked together to write a friendly letter and draw a picture to a child in Haiti which will be included in the kit. “The first graders were very excited about helping other children in need,” says teacher Jenny Wheeler. “I am very proud of of them for their desire to help others. I would like to thank the parents for their support and involvement with their children, and I would like to thank Mr. Levy for his help with this project. Drexel is a great place to work and live!” Pictured above are the proud first graders who were willing to help other children in times of need.
