Drexel part of tour for prospective businesses

After a long extended break for the holidays, the Drexel Community Betterment Corporation held their first meeting of the new year last Tuesday, January 27th, at noon. Craig Arnold of the Cass County Development Corporation hosted the catered luncheon by Old Aubry’s Cafe at the Drexel Community Center. Those present were Anita Brown, Joe Ziegler, Sue Wishson, Vic Shipley, Kenny Reece, Jim Welborn, Patty Dreher, Marc Finke, Peggy Moles, Lynette Harris, Tyler Black, Greg Mullinex, Craig Arnold, and April Rollins.
April Rollins, owner of Rollins Photography, was welcomed as a new member.
The Treasurer’s Report reflected a balance of $1,677.16.
Under Old Business, Shipley has taken all information needed to Linda Sherman who is the attorney who originally set up DCBC to fine tune the bylaws to go ahead with the 501(c)3. He also thinks it is time to put together committee’s to move on with the Missouri Mainstreet Agenda.
Kara Smith stated that she has the welcome baskets that were provided by Berries and Blossom’s and March is the deadline to get business information or products to her at City Hall.
An update was given that the Safe Routes to School bidding will start soon.
Sue Wishon shared that she had recently attended the Sports Show in Kansas City and had spoke to someone about security camera’s that could feed into anyone’s computer. Arnold said that there were possible grants available for this and that there are also grant writers who could write the grants and there is a possibility that the grant writer fee could be included.
