Drexel man injured in single vehicle accident

A Drexel man was injured in a single vehicle accident in Cass County, Tuesday June 15, 2010. The accident occurred at 6:55 p.m., on Route D, south of Route W, north of Drexel.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ward R. Billings, 54, was traveling north in a 2000 Toyota, when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.
Billings, who was wearing a seatbelt, received serious injuries. He was transported by the Life Flight air ambulance to the Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park Kansas.
The accident scene was worked by Cass County State Trooper, Cpl. T.G. Sims. The trooper was assisted by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
