Drexel Lions Club gets boost of funds for “biggest ever” fireworks display for 50th

The Board of Aldermen of the City of Drexel, Missouri met in Regular Session February 9th, 2009. The meeting was held at City Hall. Mayor Kenneth Reece, Alderman Sue Bush-Wishon, Alderman Terry Mayfield, and Mayor Pro Tem Doug Musick were all in attendance. Alderman Allman was absent. Mayor Reece called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Citizens present were Sody Geuy, Darryl Gilbert, Chad Harrington, Judy Houseman, Marcella Johnston, Bob Miller, Marilyn Nickell, Sheila Reece, Don Simerson, Boyd Smith, Judy Stivers, Mike Stivers, Mary Wallace, B.T. Webb, Jim Welborn, and Joe Ziegler.
City Staff present were Chief of Police Jon Carpenter, City Treasurer Peggy Moles, and City Clerk Kara Smith.
Mayor Reece informed the council that due to a personnel issue they would have an executive session to follow the regular meeting. He further informed the council that they would need to include a real estate issue. Alderman Terry Mayfield then made a motion to approve the amended agenda. The motion was seconded by Alderman Doug Musick and was approved by a 3-0 vote.
B.T. Webb of the Drexel Golf Association gave an informational presentation on the improvements they have made to the course. He talked about the upgrades they would like to see in the following year as well. He told the council that the association is preparing for an April fundraiser.
