With the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year well underway at Drexel R-IV, the school is introducing two additional staff personnel. Cindy Drury has begun her journey as the new School Counselor, and Darrah Munter joined the staff late into last years’ school year as the School Nurse. As you may recall, Clarence Kellogg retired as the School Counselor last year after serving 13 years with the district. Munter replaced Cindy Belt, who moved on to pursue other nursing opportunities.
Cindy Drury, a native of Archie and a graduate of Archie High School, has been married for 30 years to Rick, a retiree of the GM plant in Janesville, WI. Together they have raised two children, Molly, 25, a Biology teacher for the Odessa School District, and Doug, a 27 year old Genetics PhD student at Indiana University. She attended William Jewell College where she received her BS in Elementary Education in 1979, and University of Wisconsin where she received a MS in Guidance and Counseling for K-12 in 1997.
From 1979-1990, Drury was a 5th grade elementary teacher for the Harrisonville School District. She moved to Milton, Wisconsin in 1991 and taught 5th and 6th grade students at the Milton Intermediate School until 1997. Later that same year she transferred to the Milton High School and was their High School Counselor until 2008. “I have loved “school” all of my life,” says Drury. “Everyday is different and a learning experience. Teachers are great colleagues because we are all working toward the same goal. . . student success!”
Drury looks forward to visiting with students regarding their post-secondary goals and creating a high school....
