DCBC meets over catered luncheon
The Drexel Community Betterment Corporation held their luncheon meeting on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the Drexel Community Center building. Drexel Bar and Grill catered the meal of taco salad and host Lynette Harris of Professional Bookkeeping provided a dessert of cobblers.
The meeting was called to order by Greg Mullinax with the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer.
The Treasurer’s Report was given by Mullinax of $1,428.10, no deposits or checks written. He announced that dues need to be paid or to get in contact with him.
Under Old Business, discussion ensued to change the meeting day to another day of the week so that the Drexel Star could attend. After some discussion of which day to change it to it was decided to leave it as is for the time being.
Vic Shipley spoke with Linda Sherman on the status of the 501(c)3 for DCBC. She brought up that maybe the DCBC could be the go between for other organizations in town that were in need of a non-profit organization to receive donations and pass them back out. Discussion will continue on this subject when bylaws are voted on.
Kara Smith needs to collect information on business or organizations for the Welcoming Baskets. She has a form to fill out to make it easier, just contact her at City Hall. This needs to be done by March 9, 2009.
Marsha Bailey contacted Patty Dreher about doing the flower barrels again. Kenny Reece will talk to her and get a price for the service.
