DCBC looks to “brand” Drexel
Members of the Drexel Community Betterment Corporation (DCBC) met with Craig Arnold, Executive Director of the Cass County Corporation of Economic Development to discuss “Branding Drexel” last Tuesday evening.
What is branding? One definition that fits what this group is working on is as follows: “Selecting and blending tangible and intangible attributes to differentiate the community in an attractive, meaningful and compelling way.”
Why do we need branding you might ask? The DCBC has applied as an Affiliate Community with the Missouri Main Street Connection Program and if Drexel is fortunate enough to be chosen; the Branding Committee will receive hands on training by the state staff on ways to economically and physically revitalize this community. Branding is a key part of this plan. The objective is to let others know what makes Drexel a great place to live and raise families, including the fact that there is much to offer new businesses such as the Enhanced Enterprise Zone. With new business comes new jobs; new residents to fill vacant houses and increased.....
