An excellent lunch was catered on March 31st at the Drexel Community Center, hosted by Citizens Bank, for the Drexel Community Betterment Corporation’s monthly meeting. Lunch included homemade bbq burgers and brats with plenty of sides by Tyler Black & Co. Those present were: Lisa Gammon, Craig Arnold, Lynette Harris, Carol Pranulis, Ann Packingham, Vic Shipley, Patsy Stewart, Tyler Black, Dave Alburty, Marc Finke, Jim Welborn, Peggy Moles, Kara Smith, Anita Brown, Joe Ziegler, and briefly, Bill Marsh.
Invocation was provided by Black, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited to start the meeting. The meeting was then gaveled into order.
Treasurer Greg Mullinax reported that DCBC has an ordinary balance of $1,378 after a $100 expense for Missouri Main Street Connection meeting dues for Sue Bush to attend. There is $495 in the Drexel Dollars account. Anita Brown from Hawthorn Bank reported that there are some Drexel Dollars out there that need to be spent at our local merchants, as they expire after one year from their date of issue. Drexel Dollars (gift certificates sponsored by DCBC for use in Drexel) are always available at the bank.

Entry fees, KidsQue, dessert and other categories were discussed.  KidsQue helps start off the event and gets the kids excited about the event.
Craig Arnold, Executive Director of Cass County Development Corporation (CCDC), recently hosted a countywide tour for the Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC). KCADC tour participants were reportedly very impressed by the area as many of them had never been off of the highways in Cass County. Kara Smith did a great job putting the Drexel tour together. The Industrial....
