Courtwarming 2009

Courtwarming activities began on Monday of last week and culminated on Friday at Drexel R-IV with the crowning of the King, Senior Cody Breuer and Queen, Freshman Jessica Gunnels. Numerous events took place at the school during the week with something different each day such as pajama day, backwards day and career day. Friday’s theme, black and gold, had students showing their Bobcat pride. The theme for the imaginative posters was “Nightmare on 4th Street”. The senior class won first place with their poster, followed respectably by the junior, sophomore and freshmen classes. The freshmen class received the “Spirit Award.” An art contest was held and the winners had their art displayed on the covers of programs at the basketball games against the Osceola Indians. The winners were: K through 2nd grade - Kaylee Frost; 3rd through 4th grade - Joey Jacobs and 5th through 6th - Mason Willy.
Between games the Drexel Dazzlers, Captain Chelsea Bauer, Breanna Gamache, Lauren Gammon, Taylor Swezey, Ellen Shannon and Annie Orton, gave another good performance called The Black Lights or sometimes called Disturbia. The Dazzlers will again be honored and asked to perform at the District Basketball Tournament being held at Leeton. The tournament begins on Monday, March 2, 2009. Photo by Richard Hettinger
