Jerry Smith, Department of Natural Resources Financial Center, discussed with Council that he works SRF fund and grants primarily for small and rural water systems. He indicated that DNR had received Drexel’s grant application. He explained that the low interest rate on the SRF loan was equivalent to a 40% grant on the entire project. He indicated that several entities were on the “fundable” list for grants, but expected several would be coming off the list because they had not progressed enough. Smith stated that if Drexel continued to make the progress they have been they would have a good chance to move to the fundable list. Next, Smith answered questions and thanked Council for their time. He then left the Council with a checklist of items to be completed for the City’s SRF application.
Next, Doris Lancaster of 110 W. Maple, addressed the Council about her apparent violation of City code pertaining to the keeping of farm animals, in particular horses, within the City limits.
