Council approves parade ordinance

The Board of Aldermen of the City of Drexel, Missouri met in Regular Session on Monday, February 8th.
Mayor Kenneth Reece, Alderwoman Sue Bush- Wishon, Alderman Terry Mayfield, Alderman Doug Musick, and Alderman Kevin Shannon were in attendance.
Citizens present were Patty Dreher, Cindy Orton, Paul Orton, Stacy Rice, Vic Shipley, Janice South, Bobby Thomas, and Jennifer Thomas.
Presenters present were Chad Harrington of the Larkin Group and Jeffrey Arnett of Tek Collect.
City Staff present were Public Works Superintendent Martin Doughty, Police Chief Jon Carpenter, City Treasurer Peggy Moles and City Clerk Kara Smith.
Mayor Reece called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at City Hall.
City Clerk Kara Smith announced that Al Hellebuyck would be unable to attend and wished to be moved to next months agenda. Mayor Reece asked for a motion to approve the agenda as amended. Alderwoman Bush-Wishon made a motion to approve the agenda. The motion was seconded by Alderman Shannon and was approved by a 4-0 vote of the council.
It was announced that at this time there would be a public hearing for all those who wished to speak on the changes to the Zoning Ordinance. City Clerk Kara Smith explained that the changes would involve the elimination of a Planning and Zoning Commission as well as that of the Board of Equalization. She further explained that all Planning and Zoning issues would instead be brought to the Board of Alderman for decision. There were no comments from the public regarding the proposed changes to the Ordinance. A sign in sheet....
