Cass Regional Medical Center unveils new state-of-the-art facility


Medical center features latest technology, specialty staff, elements of nature in design.
Cass Regional Medical Center announced the upcoming grand opening of its brand new facility with an official ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony last Friday afternoon.
Formerly Cass County Memorial Hospital and later, Cass Medical Center, the new Cass Regional Medical Center addresses space constraints of the former facility and accommodates advanced technological equipment to create the best environment for patient care. Built upon an 81-acre plot along Rock Haven Road, the new location also will allow for future growth.
From sophisticated surgical suites to an elite water therapy unit, the new site not only offers Cass County and greater KC area residents the latest in technology but also the latest in healthcare design by incorporating elements of nature to aid in the healing process for patients.
“We tried to envision the future of healthcare in our region as much as possible when planning for the new facility,” said CEO Chris Lang. “Cass Regional Medical Center reflects the very latest in healthcare architectural design, and allows us to accommodate advances in medicine and expand our services. We feel we have accomplished what we set out to do, and we are so proud of our new medical center.”
At 138,000 square feet, more than double the size of the former facility, with a total project cost of $59 million, the new facility is bustling with 234 full-time and more than 130 part-time employees. Featuring...

PHOTOS: As a critical access hospital, Cass Regional Medical Center maintains a 21-bed medical/surgical unit, a 4-bed intensive care unit, and a 10-bed behavioral health unit. Services provided by Cass Regional Medical Center include emergency care, general and specialty surgery, and nationally-recognized cardiac rehabilitation and diabetes education programs. In addition, the hospital offers advanced diagnostic capabilities, such as a 1.5T MRI, CT scan, nuclear medicine, and a nationally-accredited sleep study lab. Cass Regional Medical Center also operates six family practice clinics in the communities of Archie, Drexel, Garden City, Harrisonville, Peculiar and Pleasant Hill, and a general surgery clinic in Harrisonville.
