Cass County Commission meets with League of Cities
The Cass County Commissioners attended the Cass County League of Cities meeting where they were asked to visit with officials about issues and plans facing Cass County.
Gary Lathrop, President of the Cass County League of Cities facilitated the meeting and Commissioners Gary Mallory, Bill Cook, and Brian Baker took time to present city leaders with information on transportation and funding.
Commissioner Bill Cook led the presentation by sharing the efforts and plans of the newly formed, citizen-led Road & Bridge Task Force. “This is a task force made up of citizens from all over the county,” stated Cook. “They are working on ways for our roads department to improve on quality and service for the entire area and they are coming up with good ideas.”
Cook also shared about the county’s desire to partner with the cities when it comes to bidding on road projects. “In this economy, if we think regionally and we think unity, we can get more bang for our buck,” stated Cook. “We want the cities and the county to plan out their road projects and then let’s all go together to get one bid for all the projects and stretch our dollars further for the tax-payer. We can create a positive public-public partnership.”
