Board meets in regular session
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Drexel, Missouri met in Regular Session on Monday, June 14, 2010. Mayor Reece called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at City Hall. Citizens present were Boyd Smith, Janice South and Jennifer Thomas. Presenters present were Joe Ziegler and Jim Welborn. City Staff present were Water Technician Russ Ream, Police Chief Jon Carpenter and City Clerk Kara Smith.
Mayor Kenneth Reece, Alderman Terry Mayfield, Alderman Doug Musick, Alderman Kevin Shannon and Alderman Bob Thomas were in attendance.
Alderman Shannon made a motion to approve the agenda, which was seconded by Alderman Mayfield. The agenda was approved with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
Joe Ziegler gave a presentation to the Board regarding the plan which Lila Jones’ daughter, Nola, had designed for the triangle entrance project (Welcome to Drexel). He asked the Board for approval to move forward with the Project and asked that the City make contact to take the next steps in the project and the Board agreed.
Mayor Reece then asked if there was a motion to approve the consent agenda. Alderman Shannon made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda. The motion was seconded by Alderman Musick. The motion carried with a 4-0 vote of the Council.
Dale Kyle requested that a building permit be issued for his property at 521 N. 3rd. He asked for permission to build a 12x8’ pergola on his existing deck. Alderman Thomas made a motion to approve which was seconded by Alderman Mayfield. The permit was approved with a 4-0 vote of the Board.
