Board approves graduates, oaths taken
Following the opening Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence, the Drexel School District welcomed a new member and a returning veteran to the Board of Education last Monday night at the regular monthly meeting. A Board Member election was not required in April because at the last date of candidate filing the number of candidates who had filed was equal to the number of positions to be filled. Therefore, during the meeting, Board Secretary Linda Moles administered the oath of office to incumbent Kim Hocker and new member Chris Collins. Thereafter, a motion to nominate Christyne Hellebuyck for President of the Board was made by Hocker. Chuck Martin made a motion for nominations to cease and Hellebuyck be accepted as President of the Board by acclamation. Motion was seconded by Ronnie Jacobs and passed unanimously. Hocker then made a motion to elect Brad Lancaster as Vice President of the Board. Martin made a motion for nominations to cease and Lancaster be accepted as Vice President.....
