Board accepts resignation

The Drexel R-IV School Board of Education held a Special Meeting last Wednesday, April 8th, at 6:30 p.m. in the ITV/Conference Room. Members present were: President Christyne Hellebuyck, vice-president Vic Shipley, treasurer Kim Hocker, and members Chuck Martin, Ronnie Jacobs, Brad Lancaster and Brenda Hadley. Dr. Judy Stivers, Superintendent of Schools, principals Jeff Levy and Robbie Shepherd, and Linda Moles, secretary to the board, were also in attendance. Visitors were: Chris Collins, Katie Hocker and Alec Young.
A motion to approve the consent agenda, (consisting of approval of proposed agenda, approval of previous minutes, approval of warrant report, and authorization of payment of bills) was made by Hadley, seconded by Shipley, and carried unanimously.
Thirty minute presentations were given by each of the four architectural firms that had submitted bids for services. The firms were Dake/Wells, Springfield, MO, Finkle/Williams, Overland Park, KS, Incite Design, Overland Park, KS, and Frangkiser-Hutchens, Kansas City, MO. A motion was made by Hocker to retain the services of Finkle/Williams Architects. Motion was seconded by Jacobs, and carried unanimously.
Martin made a motion to accept Clarence Kellogg’s letter of resignation. Kellogg is retiring after twenty-seven years in the education profession. Motion was seconded by Hocker, and passed unanimously.....
