MU Extension reaches local youth at State 4-H Teen Conference

In tough economic times, Missouri communities across the state benefit when their youth have leadership skills, healthy habits and a lot of class. Courtney Hall of Creighton; Dominic Taylor and Christian Richardson of Pleasant Hill Kaitlin Fifer, Leslie Iseman, Blake Moreland, Austin Moreland; and Ryan Rushly of Harrisonville, Carter Neill of Freeman; Sydney Hoffman of Archie; Kristi Lee of Drexel; Makayla Hammond of LaTour; Harrison Morgan and Stephanie White of Belton; and Erin Wagner of Raymore; were among the 243 youth delegates to the 2009 Missouri 4-H Teen Conference, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, at Columbia’s Stoney Creek Inn. During this University of Missouri Extension conference, youth ages 11-13 built stronger leadership skills, increased their knowledge of healthy lifestyles, learned the finer points of etiquette and became informed about opportunities to experience other international cultures. The theme of the conference was “4-H…We’ve Got Class.”
