Charles B Land 1928-2008

Charles B Land, age 80, of rural Osawatomie, Kansas, died October 23, 2008 at his home.
Charles was born September 24, 1928 in Cass County, Missouri, near Drexel. He was the only child of Roy Vernon and Tessie Lourene (Kent) Land. He grew up in the Drexel area and graduated from Drexel High School with the Class of 1946.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2008 at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Shane Land (grandson) and Jeff Dorsett officiated. Nancy Snyder sang “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” and “Until Then” accompanied at the organ by Lois Bisig. Burial was in the Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri. Pallbearers were Shane Land, Jeremy Land, Steven Land, Allen McKoon, Gerald Hall, and Ron Brightwell. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Bisig, Albert McKoon, Robert Hays, Scott Shaull, Glenn Harlan Hill, and Danny Bennett. Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Memorials are to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
