Bobcats and Lady Cats win Sectionals to advance to Quarterfinals- Girls fall to Walnut Grove

The Drexel Lady Cats had a phenomenal showing in the Sectional game against the Bunceton Dragons. Drexel traveled to Harrisonville after a few snow delays last week to take on the Lady Dragons in the post season game. The Lady Cats, known for their defense, held Bunceton to jut 22 points overall.
"Just Beat It"
Former 3rd grade teacher of Drexel R-IV, Andrea Hathcock, was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and has fought to "Beat It." Andrea currently teaches at Archie and has wonderful support from her students, co-workers, former co-workers, friends, and family. Andrea lives in Drexel and the Drexel cheerleaders and fans are cheering her on as they hold up signs that say "Just Beat It," which is the them of Andrea's campaign to fight this cancer diagnosis.
Elected to State Parliamentarian
Justin Thomas, 2012 Drexel graduate and Drexel FFA member, was recently elected to the position of State Parliamentarian in the Missouri Post Secondary Agriculture Student Organization. Justin, pictured on the right in the back row, is a freshman at Linn State studying Commercial Turf and Grounds Management.

The Lady Cats entered District play as the #1 seed. They gave a strong performance in all three games starting with the first game and finishing with the last to become District Champions. Drexel got out to the early lead against the Ballard Bulldogs, 23-5, in opening round of play. The Lady Cats built on their lead throughout the game winning 73-13.
