Gammon named as Rural Office Manager of the Year

When Corky Gammon, Office Manager for Rural Water District No. 4, Miami County, recently registered to attend the 42nd Annual Conference of the Kansas Rural Water Association held this last week in Wichita, she had no idea that she would be on stage and on camera in front hundreds of people accepting an award. But she was – as she was named “Rural Water Office Manager of the Year” in ceremonies last Wednesday evening in the Century II Convention Center.
“Corky has worked tirelessly, including after hours and on weekends to see that the district’s work is completed,” said Elmer Ronnebaum, General Manager for the Association. “It is not uncommon for her to remain at the office after hours so someone can stop in and settle a payment or file a new application for service.  She is very much appreciated for her professionalism and the work effort that she provides to the water district,” Ronnebaum commented during the announcement. District board members agree that she works hard for the customers of the district and understands the policies set by the board and enforces them equally to all.
