Young Cats go 4-0
The Drexel Junior High Football team pushed their record to 4-0 with a 44-6 victory over the Midway Vikings on Monday, October 6th. The Cats took a little time to get going on offense as their first drive ended with the Vikings intercepting a pass in the end zone. However, once they began rolling the Young Cats were able to roll up 418 yards of total offense. The solid blocking of center Daniel Roberts, guards Stephan Ogden and Hunter Sturm, and tackles Dylan Morgan and Layne Irvin led the way for the backs. Trevor Cooley finished with 129 yards on 14 carries and 3 TDs in the first half before being injured and giving way to Cole Griff in the second half. Cole picked up were Trevor left off as he gained 175 yards on 12 carries and scored 2 TDs. Chris Moles also found the endzone once on 4 carries for 15 yards. Jayvn Johnston ran the ball 3 times for 27 yards and 1 2-pt conversion. The line held out the Midway rush allowing Johnston to complete 6 of 10 passes for 69 yards and 1 2-pt conversion.
