Students compete in Elks National Hoop Shoot Contest

Cass County Elks 2791 held their National Hoop Shooting Free Throw contest on December 6th at the Harrisonville Middle School. Hoop Shoot Director Steve Kagarice said they had 61 contestants from Cass County Schools between 8 and 13 years of age. Each contestant shot the best out of 25. The first place winners will advance to districts which will be held in Harrisonville at the Middle School on January 10, 2009. The winners from district will move on to compete in the state finals held in St. Louis. Those students representing Drexel in the contest were: back row, left to right, Chandler Eastwood, Tyler Allen ended with a 2nd place finish with 16/25, Trevor Gunnels with a 1st place finish with 12/25, Jacob Breuer finished in 2nd with 12/25, and Jake McLellan. Middle row, left to right, Bryan Rice, Mason Willy, Sarah Cawby, and Alex Welch finished 3rd with 12/25. Front row, left to right, Wyatt McLellan, Jenna Eastwood, and taking 1st with 21 out of 25, Taylor Lancaster.
