Lady Cats win 2, lose 1

The Lady Cats were also on two long road trips this week winning 4 games and loosing 3 while winning 2 matches and losing 1.
On Tuesday they traveled to Rich Hill and lost in a two game match to the Lady Tigers by scores of 11-25 and 25-27. Team Leaders: Serving points; Gunnels 9 and Hocker 4. Aces: Gunnels 1 and Vlieger 1. Kills: Gamache 2, Gunnels 2, Lane 1 and Hocker had a good night at the net with 3. Assists: Gunnels 4 and Collins 1. Only one block was recorded and that was by Gunnels.
Coach Busch comments, “The Lady Cats are low in numbers and currently have a couple out injured. For playing with a new lineup and players in positions not normally played, the girls performed well. The girls woke up the second match and things started working, but it was too late to pull out a victory. The team will be working on coverage and new lineups in upcoming practices.”
On Thursday the Lady Cats traveled to Heartland for a Tri-Match and came away with two match wins. Defeating Wentworth Academy in 2 games 25-11 and 25-9. After loosing the first game to Heartland 16-25, they came back to win the match 25-16 and 25-21. This brings their record to 16 wins and 8 losses and they stand 1 and 1 in conference.
Individual totals leaders for the two matches: Serving points; Gunnels 12, Vlieger 11, Lane 9, Hocker and Collins 7 each and Gamache 3. Aces: Lane 6, Vlieger and Gunnels 3 each, Collins and Gamache 2 each and Hocker with 1. Kills: Gunnels 13, Hocker 9 and Gamache 7. Assists: Collins 18, Gunnels 4 while Vlieger, Lane and Gamache all had 1. Hocker had the only recorded block.
