Lady Cats take show on the road, grabbing two wins and one loss

After a long 50 mile bus ride last Tuesday, the Lady Cats played one of the most talented 1A girls basketball teams in the state. Even though the Montrose girls are mostly sophomores and freshmen, they have played together for nearly six years and have become a dominant group of young ladies. With a number of them able to make three’s, while also having the ability to drive the lane with great ball handling, they were hard to handle. The Lady Blue Jay’s also played a smothering defense allowing the Lady Cats allowing only 14 points. Consequently, the Drexel Lady Cats were unable to stay with the girls from Montrose, who are rumored to play on a traveling team playing basketball the entire year. Drexel will probably meet this very talented group of girls again in District play. No stats were made available for this game.
On Thursday, January 8th, the girls met the Hume Lady Hornets at their house. Hume has always been known to play tough at home and the first quarter started out to look like a defensive battle with Drexel leading by a score of only 6 to 5. The Lady Cats warmed...
