Lady Cats place fourth in tournament overall

The Drexel Lady Cats split their week last week falling to Midway on Tuesday and defeating Adrian on Thursday before competing in the Sherwood Tournament on Saturday.
Tuesday night proved to be a match for the Lady Cats as they hosted the Midway Lady Vikings in a conference match up. Drexel fought the battle but came up just short in two games, both 23-25.
“I was very proud of the girls. Unfortunately, our serving was off and we gave up several points that could have made a difference in either game. Midway was tight competition and we look forward to meeting them on the court again,” said head coach Melissa Busch.
The Lady Cats came back strong on Thursday night as they defeated the Adrian Blackhawks at Adrian in three games, 18-25, 25-19, and 25-17.
“It was a really good game, both teams played really hard,” said captain Taylor Swezey.
