Lady Bobcat Basketball looks exciting with another good team in the works. They will be led by head coach Adrianne Lane and assisted by Casey Ellis.
Coach Lane reports, “The team will be competitive and we are gunning for a twenty win season.” The Lady Cats will be dominated by upper class ladies with three seniors, Chelle McAnany, Mallari Russell, and Lauren Moles; three juniors, Baylee Kendrick, Marah Shipley, and Katie Hocker; five sophomores, Tara Freeman, Nicole Vlieger, Eliza Rooney, Jacoby Hotsenpiller, and Jessica Sanders, and; one freshman, Jessi Gunnels. The team finished fourth in the pre-season conference tournament held at Midway and second at the Linn County Invitational.
The girls record now stands at 3 and 3. Come out and enjoy another year of exciting Lady Cats Basketball as they again will put a scrappy team on the floor.
The next game will be against a very good team from Montrose at their house on January 6, 2009.

Head coach Dennis Bolton states, “We are young,” which is an understatement with three juniors, one sophomore, eight freshmen, and zero seniors on the Bobcats varsity squad (Senior Kenny Beck is pictured but is no longer with the team.) There is only one returning letter winner from 2007-2008 who played sparingly. Coach Bolton is being ably assisted by BryAnne Middleton.
Coach Bolton has a very positive attitude with this young group of boys. “They all understand the TEAM concept.” Coach Bolton further stated, “We will have a learning year. We won’t be as good as last year’s team the first part of the year, but by the end of the year, we will be better than last year’s team.”
With eight freshmen and the good prospects in junior high, the future of Bobcat boys basketball is building and looks bright. Consequently there is a need to mention a little bit about the Junior High Bobcat Boys Team. They are going into their tournament this week seated first and undefeated, notably head coached by Dennis Bolton.
The next game for the varsity squad is scheduled at Montrose on January 6, 2009.
