Ten Drexel youth football players participated in the Kimble Anders’ House of Fundamentals Football Camp last Saturday, July 11, 2009, from 8:00am to 4:00pm at Memorial Stadium in Harrisonville, Missouri.
The unique camp, for ages 6-16, focused on football specific and position specific skills along with speed and agility training.
Former Kansas City Chief of 10 years and three-time Pro-Bowl Fullback Kimble Anders and his experienced staff emphasized fundamentals, form and technique in the non-contact camp. No pads were worn. Campers were grouped according to age, size and ability to compete against boys of similar talents. Each youngster received individual one on one instruction in areas such as passing, receiving, running, blocking and tackling. Because football is a team game, each individual learned to operate within the team concept. Along with the basic football skills, each camper was professionally trained and tested in the areas of speed, strength and agility, allowing them to maximize the development of their
overall ability. Each participant received lunch and a t-shirt. The camp was sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Harrisonville. Those attending from Drexel were, pictured above, front row, left to right, Koal Eastwood, Bryan Rice, Wyatt Deel, Cole Barnhart and Caleb Wright. Back row, left to right, Hunter Deel, Joey Jacobs, Grant Macoubrie, Kimble Anders, Gannon Hathcock and Chandler Eastwood. Immediately following the camp, Anders took time to autograph each campers t-shirt. Pictured above left, Wyatt Deel gets his shirt signed by the pro-bowler. Photos by Stacy Rice
