Bobcats fall twice

The Bobcats came out looking good last Tuesday against Midway in the first quarter of the game, matching Midway on their court basket for basket. With Justin Thomas hitting 2 treys and Blake Seba a trey and a two, the score was tied at 11. From that point on, the basket seemed to have a lid on it as Blake Hadley was the only Bobcat to score field goals in each of the remaining quarters. He had two treys and a two, one basket in each quarter. Justin Thomas was the only other Bobcat to score a field goal in the last three quarters. The free throw shooting was not much better making only 4 of 14 which all resulted in a final score of Drexel 25 and Midway 56.
I’m sure the boys will be taking extra shooting practice to improve their performances in the remaining part of the season as I feel positive about their mental attitude.
Team stats were field goals 31%, free throws 29%, with 7 assists, 19 rebounds, 3 steals and 30 turnovers.
Individually Thomas had 8 points, 3 assists, 2 steals and 3 rebounds; Hadley came in with 8 points, 1 assist and 1 rebound; Seba contributed 6 points, 2 assists and 7 rebounds; Moles made 2 points and pulled down 3 rebounds. The only other score came from Wheeler with 1 point while Roberts had 4 rebounds. Raffety, Wilson, Antley, Shipley and Bartholomew played but did not score.
“We played very well for the first 5-6 minutes,” coach Bolton states, “The boys attacked their man to man and finished the open shots. Then from there on we had trouble handling the press.”
