Bobcats face nearby rivals

Both Drexel and Cass Midway traveled the many miles to Osceola to do battle in the first round of the WEMO Conference Pre Season Tourney. The tournament is passed from team to team each year and this happens to be Osceola’s year.
The young Bobcats, who started two freshmen, a sophomore and two seniors, started strong as Cooley received the tip from Bolton and convincingly drove for 2 to start the game, was fouled and converted for the 3-0 lead. A lob pass to Bolton underneath for 2, a steal by Hadley and 2 more, then a pass from Cooley to Bolton for 2 more makes the score Bobcats 9 and Vikings 0. It looks like a blow-out, right? Cass Midway, who always fields a competitive team, was not about to lie down and be abused as they quickly got themselves back in the game. Bolton hits a 3 and with 1:30 left in the first quarter it was Drexel 15, Midway 8.
The second quarter began with a pass from Cooley to J. Roberts for a driving lay-up. The Bobcats then go into a funk and did not score for about 3 minutes. The Vikings took a 20-17 lead.
