Blackhawks leave their mark on local field

The Drexel Bobcats Baseball Team hosted the Adrian Blackhawks last Tuesday evening.
The game did not start off good for the local ball club as the neighboring rivals scored 14 of their 17 total runs in the first two innings of play. The Bobcats were held scoreless until the 4th inning when three runs were recorded and another in the fifth. Drexel walked away with a 17-4 loss over the Blackhawks.
“The first inning was the story of this game,” commented Coach Bolton. “We came out and the errors and mistakes seem to snowball on us. We were not able to make plays when we had the chance and this combined with Adrian’s ability to hit the ball into the gaps really made for a long inning. I was proud of the way the boys continued to work hard the rest of the game. If we are able to make the routine plays in the first inning things might have been a little different.”
Austin Allen, pitching 3 innings, recorded 6 strikeouts and 6 walks from the mound and allowed 6 hits. Pitching 2 innings, Alec Young recorded one strikeout and a walk each and allowed 13 hits to the Blackhawks.
Will Roberts led with 2 single hits, with Blake Seba, Austin Allen, Keifer Shipley, Alec Young and Dalton Jurgeson each recording one. Allen had the only HR and Jared Jacobs ended with the only....
