National Honor Society induction held
The National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) are the nation’s premier organizations established to recognize outstanding high school and middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NHS and NJHS serve to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character (and Citizenship for NJHS). These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since their beginnings in 1921 and 1929.
DCBC plans to hold BBQ contest again

The Drexel Community Betterment Corporation met for an evening meeting at the Drexel School last Tuesday, February 23rd, from 5:50-7:30.
Bulldogs visit local hardwoods for Senior Night
The Lady Cats took the floor last Friday meeting the Lady Bulldogs from Appleton City. The opening tip goes from Kendrick to Hocker and the Lady Cats later work the ball to Kendrick for 2 with an assist from Freeman. Unfortunately that is the only scoring for Drexel as their shooting is ice cold making one field goal in 20 attempts in the first quarter. This fiasco finds the underdog Lady Bulldogs leading after one by an 8 to 2 margin.
Drexel Lady Cats fall to Lady Winds

On Tuesday, February 23rd, the Lady Whirlwinds of Archie hosted the Lady Bobcats. There was no scoring in this very slow starting game until Archie goes to the line for their 4th free throw attempt being successful in 2 of the 4 at the 5:24 mark of the first quarter. Finally Drexel gets on the board when Kendrick gets a put back. Good defense by the Lady Cats holds the Lady Winds to only one field goal in the first quarter, but the shooting was not good for Drexel as they also make only one field goal in 6 tries and find themselves trailing 4-2 after one.
Drexel Bobcats winded in loss on the road

The Bobcats start out well in the first quarter of this Tuesday night game at Archie as Hadley gets a three, Bolton a field goal and 2 of 2 from the line, Seba a 2 “and 1” and J. Roberts a 2 for a 14-13 lead after one. The second quarter finds Hadley making a 2, Bolton a 2 and 1 of 2 from the line, Allen with a three and J. Roberts a two. The hot shooting 8 of 14 Whirlwinds gives them the lead at the half 24-31.
