Last Tuesday night, September 29th, the Lady Cats took on their big rival from the east, the Archie Whirlwinds.
The Lady Winds met their match in the first game as Drexel took a nice lead and managed to hold on for a 25-23 victory. This evidently stirred the fire in the Archie girls as they came back with vengeance winning the second game 11-25 and handing the Lady Cats another loss in the final game by a convincing margin of 7-25. This of course gave the Lady Winds the match and continued their dominance in the WEMO conference standings.

When we say on the road, it was just that, over 100 miles, but it was nice to come away with a big win. Circumstances did not allow me to attend the game but I will try to supply a few stats and comments from the coach.
Score by quarters Drexel 0, 6, 8 and 7 for a nice 21 total while Northwest was being shut down by our defense. Final Drexel 21, Northwest 0. Statistically the Bobcats dominated with 17 first downs to 10, rushing Bobcats 198 and Northwest 131, passing Bobcats 188, NW 27. Total yards: NW 158 and Bobcats 386.

Bobcats entertain Lockwood at home for Homecoming

DSC_2395-fb.gif

By RICHARD HETTINGER The Cats came out full of enthusiasm with Raffety carrying the ‘Big Hit’ stick and our senior captains winning the toss, but choosing to defend. Shipley, our usually dependable kicker, miscued a little and the ball went out of bounds giving Lockwood the ball on their 35. After some good defensive plays against the run, Lockwood went to a 3rd and 19. But again the pass was a Bobcat nemesis as the Tigers completed two pass plays down to the Bobcat 15. On the next play Drexel recovered a fumbled lateral taking over on their own 22.
